Hi, I’m Simon. I’ve been working in the creative marketing scene since leaving college in the 90’s. I was fortunate enough to be around when the Internet became a ‘thing’ to the world. I built my first website back in 1998 for an automotive data company based in London, swiftly moving to a top 10 agency to start and head up their web team. After several years working on some of the biggest websites in the UK including easyjet, TESCO, Lynx, V&A museum and many more I was headhunted to the role of Online Creative Director for Sony Music Europe, working with acts such as Oasis, Muse and Travis. It was a crazy time, everyone was jumping on the bandwagon of digital, throwing money at any young kid with a clever online idea. Some worked, most failed.

I then started my first company iMS with a couple of lads from my old agency, we ended up working with Virgin Records and a plethora of start ups, advising on brand, strategy, digital and exit. We ended up helping a ton of companies grow and sellout, making their owners very rich kids. Oh and during my time there I was also digital designer for Victoria Beckham, building the ‘tackiest website in Britain’ according to the front page of the Sun newspaper, for Beckingham Palace… Fun times.

After several years I decided to move back to the North West, I sold up and spent 6 m0nths trying to decide what todo with my life. I ended up consulting one of the biggest furniture brands in the UK on brand strategy and digital transformation, I swore I’d never have another agency, but the amount of work I got demanded I staffed up. 15 years later I am the CEO of Motionlab, 30 staff and a million pound turnover business, I also co own Motionlab Interactive, a very successful app business, with the worlds most downloaded darts game. Our games have been downloaded over 7 million times. We work with lots of companies from start ups to billion dollar global enterprises. Life’s good.

So, why do this? I don’t need to, but I want to. You see over 20 years of being in marketing and especially digital, I have seen a tremendous amount of companies succeed and many fail. I have seen companies be ripped off by supposed experts in marketing, capitalising on the confusion of what is right and what is wrong. I guess I just love what I do and I love helping people, I love watching companies grow and flourish. I love seeing companies sell for millions of pounds and their owners realise the dreams they’ve always wanted. So I guess I’m doing this for my own self satisfaction. I love what I do and I want to help you succeed too, it’s great feeling.
